Refund & Cancellation Policy

Our commitment is to provide clear information about payments, cancellations, and refund requests for McHat Consulting's services, professional training, and online learning offerings.

McHat Consulting Payment & Service Terms Last updated: [27th October, 2026]

This Refund and Cancellation Policy explains how McHat Consulting handles refund requests and cancellations relating to its consulting services, scheduled consultations, professional training, workshops, and online courses.

Different services may have different cancellation requirements. Any service-specific agreement, course terms, or event conditions provided to you at the time of purchase should also be reviewed.

01 General Policy

McHat Consulting aims to communicate its payment and cancellation terms clearly before a customer purchases a service or registers for a programme.

Refund eligibility depends on the type of service purchased, whether the service has commenced or been delivered, the applicable cancellation terms, and any rights available under applicable law.

Important: A payment receipt or confirmation does not, by itself, establish that a purchase is refundable. Please refer to the terms applicable to your particular purchase and contact us if you need clarification.

02 Consultations & Appointments

Consultations and advisory appointments may require advance preparation, scheduling, and the allocation of professional time. Customers should contact us as early as possible if they need to cancel or reschedule an appointment.

  • Rescheduling: Requests should be submitted before the scheduled appointment. We will advise whether an alternative time is available.
  • Customer cancellations: Any refund for a cancelled appointment will be assessed under the cancellation terms disclosed at booking and applicable law.
  • Missed appointments: Failure to attend without notice may affect refund eligibility where this was disclosed in the booking terms.
  • Cancellation by McHat Consulting: If we cancel an appointment and cannot offer a suitable replacement, we will discuss an appropriate refund or alternative arrangement.

Please check the booking confirmation for any appointment-specific notice period or rescheduling conditions.

03 Professional Training, Workshops & Events

Training programmes, workshops, seminars, and other scheduled learning events may involve venue costs, materials, facilitators, and advance preparation.

  • Cancellation before an event: Refund eligibility will depend on the cancellation deadline and terms communicated during registration.
  • Transfer to another session: Where available, McHat Consulting may offer a transfer to a future session as an alternative to a refund.
  • Non-attendance: Missing a session does not automatically entitle a participant to a refund or a replacement session.
  • Changes to an event: If we cancel or materially change a programme, we will communicate the available options, which may include rescheduling, credit, or a refund where applicable.

Any special event cancellation conditions disclosed during registration will apply alongside this policy, subject to applicable law.

04 Online Courses & Digital Learning

Online courses and digital learning programmes may provide access to recorded lessons, downloadable materials, assessments, certificates, or other digital content.

  • Before access is provided: Refund requests will be assessed against the course terms presented at purchase and applicable law.
  • After access is provided: Accessing or downloading digital content may affect refund eligibility, depending on the terms agreed to at purchase and applicable law.
  • Technical problems: Customers experiencing login difficulties or access errors should contact us so we can investigate and attempt to resolve the issue.
  • Course cancellation: If McHat Consulting cancels a course and cannot provide the agreed alternative, we will explain the available refund or replacement options.

Digital purchases: No blanket statement in this policy removes any consumer rights that cannot lawfully be excluded, including rights that may apply to digital content or services.

05 Consulting & Professional Services

Consulting engagements may involve research, meetings, document preparation, analysis, planning, and other work tailored to a client's needs.

  • Work not yet commenced: A request to cancel will be reviewed in line with the signed agreement, proposal, payment terms, and applicable law.
  • Work already commenced: Any refund assessment may take account of the work completed, resources committed, and cancellation provisions in the applicable agreement.
  • Milestone payments: Deposits and staged payments will be handled according to the agreed contract and applicable law.
  • Scope changes: If a client requests a change or termination of the agreed scope, any financial adjustment will be handled under the applicable service agreement.

Where a signed contract contains specific cancellation, termination, or refund terms, those terms should be read together with this policy. Nothing here overrides mandatory legal rights.

06 Refund Eligibility

When reviewing a refund request, McHat Consulting may consider the following factors:

  • The type of product or service purchased.
  • The date and amount of payment.
  • Whether the service or course has commenced or been delivered.
  • The cancellation or refund terms provided at purchase.
  • Whether a service was cancelled, unavailable, or materially different from what was agreed.
  • Any applicable consumer protection requirements.

A request will be assessed on its circumstances and the relevant terms. We will communicate our decision and, where appropriate, explain the next steps.

07 How to Request a Refund

To help us review your request efficiently, please contact McHat Consulting and provide:

  • Your full name and contact details.
  • The service, course, event, or appointment purchased.
  • The date of purchase and payment reference, if available.
  • A brief explanation of your cancellation or refund request.
  • Any relevant receipt, confirmation email, or supporting information.

We may contact you for additional information if necessary. Please avoid sending full payment-card details or passwords in your request.

We will review the information provided and respond with our decision or an update if further review is required.

08 Refund Processing & Exceptions

Where a refund is approved, we will explain the amount and the method through which it will be issued. Refunds will generally be returned through the original payment method where practicable, unless another method is agreed or required.

The time taken for the funds to appear may depend on the payment provider, bank, card issuer, or mobile money service. We will communicate any available processing information.

Where a refund cannot be issued through the original payment method, we may request the information reasonably needed to arrange an alternative method securely.

Nothing in this policy is intended to exclude or limit any rights or remedies that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited. If any provision conflicts with applicable law, the relevant legal requirements will prevail.
